Myeongin Andong Soju is a distilled-soju brewery that began commercial brewing in 1992, inheriting the home-brewing tradition that the Bannam Park family of Andong has carried on for over 500 years. Founder Park Jae-seo was designated National Traditional Food Master No. 6 in 1995, and today his eldest son CEO Park Chan-gwan and grandson team leader Park Chun-woo brew together, giving it the rarity of a brewery where three generations work as active members.
Located at 6 Sandanji 6-gil, Pungsan-eup, Andong, the brewery uses 100% domestic rice, ferments it for more than 40 days using the three-stage mashing method, then distills only the clear refined liquor and ages it in oak casks and earthenware to complete a deep, clean taste.
Its major products consist of Andong Soju in various proofs such as 22, 35, and 45 degrees, gift lines in traditional Hahoe-mask and gourd-shaped ceramics, and long-aging infusion-liquor series. Visitors can experience the traditional distillation process through a brewery tour and take part in tasting and cultural programs. Under the philosophy of insisting on only good liquor, Myeongin Andong Soju coexists with local farmers and aims to spread the prestige of Korean distilled spirits to the world.
